New lunchtime language classes run by the University of Bath will offer city centre workers something different to do at lunchtime.
Classes in French, Italian and Spanish will run from 12.15pm to 1pm at the YMCA building at Broad Street Place.
To get a taste of what’s on offer people are invited to come along to free 20-minute classes at the YMCA on Thursday 4 February from 12.15pm to 1pm. No need to book, just turn up on the day. New students that enrol at the taster session will receive a £5 discount.
The Spanish and Italian classes are open to complete beginners and the French class is suitable for people with basic French.
Isabella Stefanutti, Director of Community Courses in the Foreign Languages Centre, said: “If you’re bored of your usual lunchtime routine, come along and learn a language with us! It’s a great escape for 45 minutes and the classes are fun and friendly. You’re welcome to bring your lunch too. Anyone can give it a go – come along to our free taster session to see for yourself.”
At the taster session the French class will run first from 12.15pm to12.35pm; Italian from 12.35pm to 12.55pm and Spanish from 12.55pm to 1.15pm.
The full courses start on Wednesday 17 February (Spanish), Thursday 18 February (French) and Friday 19 February (Italian) and run for 10 weeks. Each course costs £65.
