Vice-Chancellor, Professor Glynis Breakwell, has acted as an advisor to a report published today by The Royal Society which looks at the economic impact of research in this country.
The report entitled ‘The Scientific Century: Securing Our Future Prosperity’ aims to assess the UK’s current status and future prospects in a global knowledge economy.
It highlights the benefits to the UK economy that have stemmed from continued investment in research over the long-term.
The Vice-Chancellor was part of the advisory group to the report which brought together leading figures from politics, industry and science and included Lords Sainsbury and Waldegrave.
