Implementing proposals for re-organisation: Associate Deans

Council and Senate approved a number of proposals for re-organisation last summer. The implications of these proposals are being worked through.

One of these proposals envisaged the creation of faculty-wide roles for key areas, including research, graduate studies and learning & teaching.

A generic job description and person specification for the following three new roles in each Faculty has now been finalised, following consultation, and are available online:

  • Associate Dean (Graduate Studies)
  • Associate Dean (Learning & Teaching)
  • Associate Dean (Research)

Expressions of interest from eligible members of staff who wish to be considered for these roles within their Faculty are now requested.

Your expression of interest will consist of:

  • details of which roles you wish to be considered for;
  • a statement of relevant experience and aspirations for the role(s);
  • a full curriculum vitae.

Please submit your expression of interest by Friday 30 April 2010 either by internal mail or email to: Ian Cheetham, Director of Human Resources.

Each appointment will take effect from 1 August 2010 for a period of three years in the first instance (with reappointment subject to a review of performance).
