Graduate recruitment targets are up, despite the recession

For those about to graduate in 2010, there is a mood of cautious optimism in many sectors.

The Association of Graduate Recruiters reports that more than half of its members, representing the major traditional recruiters, plan to increase their numbers for 2010 (following the nine per cent fall in 2009).

The January High Flyers Survey produced similar results, with the overall graduate recruitment target increasing by 11.8 per cent.

The Careers Advisory Service is in touch daily with graduate recruiters, adding new vacancies every day to the online vacancy system Myfuture, and has 50 employers booked into the Summer Graduate Recruitment Fair on 8 June, all eager to meet the class of 2010.
