Bath academics spread the word on psychology

Academics from the University of Bath and Bath Spa University are leading an initiative to help Psychology students to bridge the gap between school and university.

Nigel Holt, senior lecturer in Psychology at Bath Spa University, has edited a unique new series of eight books, Insights in Psychology, which are suitable for A-level students, teachers, undergraduates, postgraduates and even general readers interested in the subject.

Each book is written by a specialist who teaches and researches at university level.  The series covers key topics in Psychology, such as health, research methods, sport, intelligence, media, forensics, addiction and relationships.

One of the books, on research methods, is Dr Ian Walker and a second, on health psychology, is by Dr Karen Rodham, both from the Department of Psychology.

This comprehensive series, published by Palgrave Macmillan, is the first one aimed at helping Psychology students to make the transition from school and college to university study.

The national launch of all eight Insights in Psychology books takes place at Waterstone’s in Bath at 7pm on Saturday 11 September.  More books for the series are in preparation.
