Andrew Lee appointed temporary Director of BUCS

Andrew Lee has been appointed as temporary Director of Computing Services. He will be in position for the next six months.

Andrew replaces Rod Angood who left last month to embark on a new life in Brisbane, Australia, following nine years at the University.

Andrew has worked at the University for nearly three years. He was previously Assistant Director of User Services with responsibility for managing the service desk, ITP shop and audio-visual teams.

He will take up the new role until June, allowing BUCS time to consider how best to fill the position on a permanent basis.

On his appointment Andrew said: “I am honoured and excited to be stewarding an amazing team of IT professionals, during the beginning of what will prove to be a very dynamic and challenging time for the University.

“I am looking forward to creating specific strategies and plans that directly support the University's post-Browne initiatives.”

Andrew’s aim is to build upon the successes and developments made by his predecessor, who oversaw many innovative schemes which enhanced the BUCS network both on and off campus.

We all wish Andrew the very best of luck in his new position over the coming months.
