Bath Science Café: tackling burns in children

The Bath Science Café will meet on Monday 10 January to hear how researchers are using nanotechnology to develop a medical dressing which will detect and treat infection in wounds.

PhD student's paper given 'Hot Article' status by journal

Peter Sunderland, who has just received his PhD at the Winter Degree Congregation, has had a paper on his research designated a “Hot Article” by the journal Organic & Biomolecular Chemistry.

New scholarships announced for Engineering & Design

The David Parkin PhD Scholarships are for overseas students starting in 2011/12. They cover all tuition fees for three years and a £1,000 training support grant. Current MSc students as well as external applicants will be considered.

OBE for Dr Faith Butt in New Year Honours

The University of Bath is delighted that Dr Faith Butt, Director of its Division for Lifelong Learning since 2003, has been awarded an OBE in the Queen’s New Year Honours for services to education.
