A one-day event on Wednesday 23 February will give students the chance to boost their employability, in a series of workshops and presentations covering everything from how to interview well to running your own business.
If you want to know how to get yourself spotted or you have a question you’d like to put to recruiters, come along to the free event on campus organised by the Students’ Union.
You can also hear from John Betty, Director of Developments & Major Projects at Bath & North East Somerset Council, who will talk about opportunities for graduates in Bath.
His session, entitled Graduates: How to start your career in Bath is open to staff and students and will cover facts about employment in Bath, hear from Bath graduates who have successfully started their own business, and open a discussion about what will keep students in Bath.
Speakers on the day include:
- Bruce Keeling - HR Operations & Recruitment Manager at the University
- Andrew Cooper - Bath City Centre Manager
- Jerry Walshingham – MailBoxes, Bath
- Kathryn Wood – Careers Advisory Service at the University
- Cath Pye - National Trust
Lisa Taylor, SORTED Administrator who organised the event, said: “This is a excellent opportunity for students to sharpen up their employability skills and find out face-to-face what recruiters are looking for in a demanding recruitment market. Everyone is welcome, undergraduates and postgraduates, and we know our students will benefit from this unique event.”
The event is organised by SORTED in conjunction with JobLink and supported by The Alumni Fund.
