University of Bath announces £9k fee proposal for 2012

The University of Bath is proposing to set a tuition fee of £9,000 a year for Home/EU undergraduates starting courses in 2012.

This fee level is subject to the approval of our proposed access and widening participation arrangements by the Office for Fair Access (OFFA).

University of Bath Vice-Chancellor, Professor Glynis Breakwell, said: “As one of the UK’s leading universities, our priority is to provide the highest quality teaching, learning and personal development opportunities for our students. In order to maintain this quality of provision, we need to set a fee of £9K.

“In addition, this fee level will allow us to provide a package of financial support and outreach activity to support able students who would not normally aspire to study at the University of Bath to come here.

“We are committed to the continued enhancement of what we offer our students and we will be working in partnership with the Students’ Union to prioritise future developments.”

The fee was endorsed by the University’s Council (its governing body) at a special meeting on Wednesday 30 March.
