Following approaches from some of the political parties, the University has agreed to allow any political party with a candidate for the Bathwick Ward to canvas on the campus of the University of Bath on Thursday 21 April 2011 between 11.00 am and 3.00 pm (or for any part of that time), but only on the Parade outside the Library.
No other canvassing on campus will be allowed, but the Students’ Union will be happy to allocate each party a display Board in the Student Centre where election material may be displayed until 5 May.
The University will draw the attention of its staff and students to the fact that canvassing will be taking place on 21 April. Those wishing to avail themselves of this should email universitysec@bath.ac.uk or telephone the University Secretary’s Office on 01225 386080.
Pay and display parking is available in the East car park. On the day, you should report to the Security officer just inside the Library. You would be provided with a table and are welcome to bring a display stand and literature to hand out. No sound amplification is permitted. If you wish to provide information to be displayed in the Student Centre, please contact the Students’ Union Vice-President Communications, James Huelin, who will be available on the day or can be contacted on 07717 368333.
The University is private property and it reserves the right to ask anyone to leave who does not respect these guidelines and any directions from its security staff. You are asked to respect the fact that this is an environment of work and study.
If you have any queries please contact Sarah Channon on 01225 386080 in the first instance.
