The Department of Computer Science is hosting an event about IBM’s artificial intelligence (AI) computer system Watson, made famous after winning US quiz show Jeopardy! earlier this year.
Watson, the biggest AI celebrity of the 21st century, was designed by a team from IBM. University of Bath computer science graduate Dale Lane has since joined the IBM team and will be returning to the University to talk about their work.
Dale has maintained close links with the city since graduating, having presented to the Bath computer developing community over the summer at the well-received BathCamp event. The University community is now looking forward to welcoming him back to campus to talk about IBM’s ground-breaking work with Watson.
More information can be found about Watson on IBM’s website.
The talk will take place in the East Building, room 0.7, at 2:15pm on Friday 21 October and is free to attend.
