A message from Professor Bernie Morley, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Learning & Teaching)

I would like to offer my sincere thanks to all of you who played a part in making yesterday’s Open Day a great success.

Every year staff and students play a vital role in helping our Open Days to run smoothly and making sure that we stand out as a world-class University and yesterday was no exception.

You helped to welcome more than 5,000 visitors onto campus whether it was meeting and greeting, serving refreshments or making sure that everyone had somewhere to park.

The Parade, our accommodation and the campus in general were looking at their best, and it was a pleasure to see so many people finding out more about what we have to offer.

The information fair in the STV was continuously busy and I know those who gave departmental tours and talks were doing so to packed rooms.

There were challenges, including heavy rain and traffic congestion, but with your support we’ve had some tremendous feedback from our visitors, many of whom say they feel inspired to apply to study at Bath.

The Open Days are really crucial to our recruitment plans, and in the current HE environment they take on an even greater importance, but I’m sure the thousands of prospective students and their families who came yesterday will have left with a very positive impression of Bath, its staff and its students.
