A message from Professor Kevin Edge, Deputy Vice-Chancellor:
I am very pleased to say that this year’s admissions process is going very smoothly and colleagues have been doing an excellent job of ensuring that we have another strong student intake.
Applications for our courses have increased, bucking the national trend, and the high quality of our applicants means that the vast majority of places on our campus-based courses will be filled by those who chose us as their preferred university.
Overall, this is a very successful admissions round for us during a period of considerable uncertainty for universities.
I would like to thank everyone who has helped make this happen; in particular the Departmental Admissions Tutors and their support staff, staff in BUCS, the Central Admissions Team who have been working hard on this since 7am on Sunday morning, and the 19 volunteers who staffed the call centre taking over 1,200 calls.
Congratulations to all involved and I am sure you’ll join me in looking forward to welcoming our new students in September.
