During this week the next group of staff will start using leave recording through iTrent, the University’s new HR & Payroll system. These staff include those in the Faculties’ academic departments and the Department for Sports Development & Recreation.
The aim of this change is to provide staff with an easy to use and secure way to view and manage their leave, much like moving from a paper diary to an electronic one.
The majority of professional services staff have already moved over to the new system with over 1,200 now using the system. Feedback from this change has been positive with over 4,500 requests for annual leave authorised since June. Two academic departments have already implemented the system as early adopters and their feedback has helped to improve both how the change is being managed and how the system is operated within the University.
The remaining staff not yet using online leave recording will move to it at the end of this October.
There are guides and podcasts on using the system for staff to use at the Online Leave Recording under the annual leave and sickness headings in the left-hand navigation.
There are also weekly information sessions to explain how to use the system. To book onto a session please contact Sarah Jones, HR Administrator at S.A.S.Jones@bath.ac.uk or on ext 6923.
Both I and the project team appreciate that this will be a change for staff but hope that all staff will find the new system straight-forward to use and helpful.
