The University and College Union has informed the Vice-Chancellor that they have decided to suspend the current action short of a strike which they have been taking since 18 June 2012 in support of their dispute about changes to the Universities Superannuation Scheme.
The decision has been reached by the University and College Union members following a special conference held on 13 September 2012.
Following the decision to suspend industrial action the employers have agreed to resume talks in the Universities Superannuation Scheme Funding and Benefits Working Group.
This suspension of industrial action will take effect from Wednesday 26 September 2012 to facilitate the on-going discussions.
