The Vice-Chancellor’s Group agreed to remove the lowest casual worker rate of pay with effect from 1 October 2012.
This means that casual jobs paid at the lowest rate of £4.98 per hour were increased to £6.19 per hour with effect from 1 October 2012.
This change has been reflected in the amended Casual Worker Pay table.
Human Resources and Joblink have contacted all casual workers concerned and offered them new contracts based on the higher rate of pay.

Chris Clements, Students’ Union President, said: “This is fantastic news at a time when so many students express that money is the most significant issue to them in their time at University.
“The work between the University and the Students’ Union over the last six months on this issue has been fantastic and this is indicative of the collaborative nature of a University that truly listens to its students.”
