Open Invite to the Official Launch of the University's Public Engagement Unit

All staff are warmly invited to the launch of the University’s Public Engagement Unit on Monday 3 December, from 3.30pm, in the Graduate Centre, 4 West.

The Unit will look to inspire and support researchers at Bath to embed public engagement activities within their research. It has been established through funds from the Research Councils UK’s Catalyst scheme.

Come along for a chance to gain a taster of some of the exciting public engagement with research opportunities taking place across the University. Find out more first hand from researchers as to what motivates them to engage with the public, and the benefits of doing so. And meet the team behind the Unit to discover their plans for stimulating a culture of engaged research across Bath.

At 4pm, attendees will hear from the Vice Chancellor as to why she thinks Bath’s researchers should engage with the public and from Paul Manners, Director of the National Coordinating Centre for Public Engagement, about the national context for engaged research. After the short presentations, there will be free space to discuss the work of the Public Engagement Unit and to meet engaged researchers from across the University.

Drinks and light snacks will be available from 3.30pm. Spaces for the event are limited so do register as soon as possible at: https://www.survey.bath.ac.uk/pe-unit-launch
