The University of Bath joins new Regional Research Grouping

Today sees the announcement of our formal collaboration with the Universities of Bristol, Cardiff and Exeter. The grouping of four research-intensive universities will be tentatively named the GW4.

The collaboration builds on a number of existing successful partnerships across the four institutions.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Dame Glynis Breakwell said: “Taken together, the breadth and depth of our research expertise is truly impressive, providing a powerful new contender in the increasingly intense competition for research funding on both the national and international level.”

Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research) Jane Millar added: “I am looking forward to working with colleagues to create an influential research network that will help us both develop our existing areas of research and take on important new projects.”
