New arrangements for examinations postponed from Friday 18 January and Tuesday 22 January 2013

Message from Professor Kevin Edge, Deputy Vice-Chancellor.

As you will be aware the recent adverse weather conditions have caused the postponement of a number of examinations.

Information regarding the new arrangements for these examinations is being published to the student community today. The full announcement is here.

These arrangements have been made in consultation with the Students’ Union. The aim has been to ensure that appropriate examination and assessment is in place for all relevant programmes of study balanced with the need to cause the minimum possible disruption to the teaching programme. They are based on the principle that all students (unless otherwise stated) are expected to be present at the University during a normal teaching week.

In the event that further examinations are postponed a new announcement will be made relating to arrangements for those examinations only.

I acknowledge the difficulties caused for both students and staff by the recent adverse weather conditions. I appreciate the patience and understanding of all concerned and thank you all for your efforts to minimise the impact of the disruption.
