Vice-Chancellor’s Research Day

The fourth annual VC Research Day was held on Wednesday 23rd January, and once again lived up to expectations as one of the ‘research highlights’ of the year, in the words of Jane Millar, PVC Research.

There were eleven speakers from across the University, covering topics as diverse as nanoscience, risk management, computer vision, computational chemistry, social class and education, biofuel cell technology, digital architectonics – and more. The speakers were interesting, engaging and doing research that can really make a difference. The audience was informed, challenged and left wanting more.

In her thanks, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dame Glynis Breakwell said that she was impressed by the quality of the work on fascinating topics with evident impact. She urged the speakers to continue to ‘make connections, to develop the synergies that were emerging’ and also to take their research into the world by making international links and research partnerships.
