Staff Survey 2013 opens 15 March, ‘Your Survey, Your Say’

Dear Colleague

The 2013 Staff Survey will open on Friday 15 March and run for five weeks until 19 April.

Our staff are key to achieving our objectives and maintaining our excellence as one of the UK’s leading universities. We want to make sure we continue to attract and recruit the most talented people while improving the quality of working life for all employees. We therefore need to know what you think about working here.

The staff survey gives you a chance to say what you enjoy about working at the University and what you think could be better. I would encourage you to take time out of your working day to make your views known by completing it.

As with the two previous surveys, it has been designed with independent consultancy Capita and will be completely anonymous. Your questionnaire will be sent to you either electronically or, for those without regular access to email, in paper form with a reply paid envelope. It will take around 20 minutes to complete.

We will take the results and use them to inform future initiatives. We will also make sure we share the results with you all.

There have been many changes across the organisation in response to what you said in the 2011 survey. You can see a summary of all the developments at go.bath.ac.uk/yoursurvey2013

In 2011 just over half of you gave your views. This year we are hoping even more will get involved. For every survey response submitted the University has committed to donate £1 to charity. You will be able to select from a choice of five charities.
Whatever your role, please ensure your voice is heard and help shape your place of work in the future.

Let’s Talk

I’m also pleased to invite you to the next ‘Let’s Talk’ event from 1.30pm to 2.30pm on Tuesday 9 April in the East Building Lecture Theatre.

It was good to see so many of you at the first event and to hear how many more were watching online. In all, almost 600 of you took part in some way.

We’ve changed the day and time of this next ‘Let’s Talk’ to make it more convenient for those of you who couldn’t attend last time, and we will also ensure there is more time for your questions during the event. If you have a question you would like me to address you can email it in advance to lets-talk@bath.ac.uk

Thank you.
