Easter 2013 opening times 2

The University will be closed for Easter on Friday 29 March and will resume normal working on Wednesday 3 April.

During Easter many facilities and services on campus and in Bath city centre will operate limited opening hours.

Security

  • The University Security Office will be staffed 24 hours a day as normal during the closure period, the telephone number is ext 5349.
  • If you have any enquiries, please go to the reception desk in the Library, which will be manned by Security 24 hours a day - ext 3853.
  • Emergencies: dial 666 for Security; 999 or 112 for Ambulance, Fire/Rescue services and Police.
  • Carry your Uni library card! – If you work in a building that is access-restricted outside normal office hours, the doors will be set to ‘card access only’ while the Uni is closed for Easter, so you’ll need your card to gain entry.

  • Due to essential electrical works Fresh Grocery Store will be closed from Sunday 30 March to Friday 5 April inclusive.

Student Support

  • The Student Services Centre will be closed from 29 March - 2 April.
  • The Advice & Representation Centre will be closed from 29 March - 2 April.
  • The self referral listening@bath mailbox will NOT be responded to during the period when the University is officially closed.
  • Students requiring counselling or mental health support should go to the University Medical Centre or to their local medical centre GP.

  • The Chaplaincy will not be staffed from 29 March - 2 April.

Library

Computing Services

  • Bath University Computing Services (BUCS) will be closed from 29 March – 2 April. This includes the IT service desk, campus computer shop and audio visual. 

Out of Hours procedure

During the holiday the out of hours procedure applies.

  • Check the Out of Hours Serious Fault Reporting Page to see if your emergency is covered
  • Call security on Ext 5349
  • Security will have a list of on-call staff including Directors / Assistant Directors
  • On call staff will evaluate / deal with the problem and call out appropriate staff (who are on call) to deal with the issue.
  • If possible, you should also report this via the normal contact form with as many details as possible.

Estates – maintenance requests

  • All normal, non-urgent requests can be submitted electronically to the Department by clicking on the green button on the Estates homepage; these will be processed on Wednesday 2 April when the department re-opens.
  • Urgent issues & emergency repairs should be reported to security (as outlined above).
  • Estates would like to remind everyone about taking energy saving measures over the holidays.
