Westwood Nursery wins Staff Recognition Award

The winners of the 2013 Staff Recognition Award are the staff of Westwood Nursery.

The award was presented by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Glynis Breakwell, at this year’s Staff Recognition Evening held in the Claverton Rooms.

The team are shown here, following the presentation of the award to Childcare Services Manager Pauline Young.

The nomination was made by more than 20 parents led by postgraduate student Elaine Wainwright, who wrote that the staff  ‘give excellent care to the children with passion, professionalism, and within a particularly caring framework. Westwood nursery’s fantastic contribution has a far reaching, positive impact on many people within the University’.

Professor Gareth Price, who chaired the Selection Committee said: ‘We had a number of excellent nominations but the number of people involved in this nomination made it stand out from the others‘.

The Staff Recognition Award is made annually to members of staff, other than academics, who have shown initiative, innovation, creativity and who have worked beyond the call of duty to the benefit of the University.
