New Head of Student Services

Message from Professor Bernie Morley, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Learning & Teaching)

I am delighted to announce that Anthony Payne will be joining us on Monday 24 February 2014 as our new Head of Student Services.

Anthony Payne is our new Head of Student Services

Anthony was previously Head of Student Experience at York St John University, a role which included leading the enhancement of employability and student support services. His earlier roles have included Director of Equity and Diversity at Deakin University in Melbourne, and Manager of Student Services at the University of Tasmania.

After graduating with a degree in Social Work, Anthony worked in a range of hospital and community health services in Australia and New Zealand. His research interests have included inclusive education, first year programs and the health needs of disadvantaged communities.

Anthony has led a number of projects that have developed resources to support university staff in inclusive teaching practice, including development of the Guidelines for provision of services for students with disability, and an Australian Learning and Teaching Council funded project Creating Accessible Teaching & Support (CATS), which is designed to embed inclusive education practices across the university sector.

I am sure you will join with me in welcoming Anthony to the University.
