Neil Strevett takes up new role

Message from Jane Millar, OBE, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research)

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Neil Strevett who joins the University in a new role of Postgraduate Research Studies Manager.

Neil has previously held research management roles at the University of Wales, which involved overseeing the introduction of a common academic framework for research degrees. Whilst at the university, he was Director of the Graduate Students Centre and managed an ERDF (European Regional Development Fund), PhD industrial placement project in which students completed three years of research within SMEs. As Head of the Academic Unit he oversaw external examiner processes for the University.

After graduating with a PhD in History, Neil developed his experience in academic quality enhancement with roles at the University of Liverpool and Brunel University, as well as at the Health Professions Council in London, where he was a member of the Education team which approved programmes delivered in universities for the professions the HPC regulate.

Whilst at University of Liverpool, he had responsibility for the National Student Survey (NSS) and project managed the launch of the university’s own student survey.

Neil has travelled extensively in his career and is pleased to be able to take up the role back in his home town.

I am sure you will join with me in welcoming Neil to the University.
