Thank you for another successful Open Day

I would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to all who played a part in making yesterday’s Open Day another huge success.

Being ranked the best Open Day in the UK by the annual Higher Expectations Survey of undergraduates brings additional expectation and we estimate that over 12,000 visitors were here on the day to find out what Bath offers.

Whether you were involved in the work to get the campus ready for the big day, or here on campus to meet, greet and help our visitors, I think we can all be proud of the way we represented our University.

There was a really vibrant buzz on campus which was helped by some fantastic summer weather. The Parade and the campus in general were looking at their best, and with the help of our excellent student ambassadors, staff volunteers, and Students’ Union societies, there was a great atmosphere.

Our accommodation looked good and I was delighted we were able to show visitors around a section of the eagerly anticipated new Quads building. I managed to take a quick look and was very impressed with what I saw.

The information fair was as busy as ever, and those giving departmental tours and talks were doing so to packed rooms. The sheer volume of hungry and very thirsty visitors also stretched our catering staff and resources to the limit, but they coped admirably.

Many of the visitors I spoke to said what a welcoming and friendly place Bath was and how well organised the day had been.

So many congratulations to all and thanks once again.

Best wishes and have a great weekend.
