First bilateral Bath-Nanyang symposium

The first bilateral symposium Common themes in Chemistry took place between ourselves and Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, earlier this month.

Representatives from NTU - as well as our own researchers - gave 11 talks on subjects which included the use of nanoparticles in medicine, electro-chemistry methods for catalysis and finding new ways to identify forged money.

The symposium proved an excellent platform to build on collaborative work between the two institutions - several possible links were discussed including academic and student exchange programmes.

The second bilateral Bath-NTU symposium will be held at NTU and is planned for next year.
