Pentathlon Championships on campus

We are delighted to be hosting the prestigious Modern Pentathlon European Championships on campus from Tuesday 18 to Sunday 23 August.

More than 100 top pentathletes from across Europe will be battling it out for Olympic selection for Rio 2016 at the Championships – the first major international Modern Pentathlon competition held in the UK since London 2012.

Come & watch the action

Sporting fans can buy tickets to watch the five different sports of Modern Pentathlon (swimming, fencing, riding, running and shooting) with prices starting at just £6 for adults and £1 for under-18s.

There are free tickets available for all events taking place on Thursday and Friday.

Get involved

There’ll be a real buzz at the Sports Training Village with fencing taking place in the main sports hall, swimming in the 50m pool, show-jumping in the athletics in-field area and the run-shoot climax on the athletics track.

With plenty of food and drink stalls, opportunities for shopping as well as the chance to try your hand at fencing and shooting, it promises to be a memorable experience.

There’ll be lots of activities for younger family members to get involved in too.

Cheer on our students

Look out for two of our current students taking part: Joe Choong (Mathematics) and Tom Toolis (Sports Performance).

Both have seen their sporting careers go from strength to strength during the past 13 months.

Read interviews with Joe and Tom as they talk about studying and training at Bath and their hopes and goals for the Europeans and Rio 2016.

Parking on campus

There will be some disruption to parking on campus. More details are available on our Travel blog.
