Your opportunity to have your say in the EU Referendum

A message from Vice-Chancellor Professor Dame Glynis Breakwell, and Jordan Kenny, the Students' Union President:

On 23 June, a vote will take place on whether the United Kingdom should continue its membership of the European Union.

As students and young people are often under-represented in such votes, we are writing to encourage you to take part.

Making your voice heard is an integral part of our democratic system, and you have the power to effect enormous change on the future of our community and our country.

If you aren’t already registered to vote, you must register by Tuesday 7 June in order to vote in the EU Referendum.

You can register at both your home and term-time address - all you need is five minutes and your National Insurance Number.

British, Irish and Commonwealth citizens who are resident in the UK can all vote, but for full details visit the link below.

To register please visit

Once registered, you will be sent a polling card which will show where your local polling station is located.  You don’t need to take this card with you when you vote.

For further information on the Students’ Unions activities around the EU Referendum visit

We strongly encourage you to register and seize the opportunity to have your say on a major decision that will undoubtedly affect you.
