Update from Senate - February 2017

The following issues were discussed at the recent meeting of Senate.

Update - The Vice-Chancellor gave a report on key issues for the University, including submission of the TEF2 document,

Admissions - Senate discussed the student intake figures for 2016, noting the stabilisation of undergraduate numbers, plus initial data on applications for 2017.

Quality Assurance – Senate discussed the updated Annual Provider Review, part of the new Revised Operating Model for Quality Assessment (ROMQA) and recommended it to Council for approval.

Research Assessment and Management - Senate approved a Statement of Principles on Research Assessment and Management which will shortly be available on the web.

New Programmes – Senate gave full and final approval to a new MSc Data Science and MSc Applied Clinical Psychology.

Equality and Diversity – Senate received a presentation from Professor Linda Newnes on Athena SWAN activities.

Professors of Practice – Senate noted a new job role of Professors of Practice in the Education and Research job family

Honorary Titles – Senate approved the conferment of the title of Honorary Professor on Professor Luisa Lima and Professor John Westwick.
