Message from Professor Bernie Morley

Our next Open Day is now just days away with over 10,000 additional visitors expected on campus on Thursday and Friday (15 and 16 June).

These days have become a real team effort, and I’d like to take this opportunity in advance to thank both the staff who have been working so hard in the planning, and all those who will play an active role on the day itself.

As always it’s about creating a very positive first impression to those who are coming to see what we, and the city of Bath, have to offer. We know from feedback at previous Open Days that visitors have been impressed with the warm welcome from our staff and students, and with the wonderful facilities and campus we have to offer.

Of course the roads leading here, and the car parks, will be incredibly busy on the day. Visitor cars will be directed to East, South and West car parks as normal where they can park or be directed on to over flow car parks on the grass fields. We will be employing additional security staff to help with the flow of traffic on and off campus from our main east entrance.

If you can car share to help ease the pressure then please do so. The buses are running a term-time service but are also likely to be very busy, so please take this into account when making your travel arrangements.

For those staff arriving later in the day who may struggle to find space to park, Security Services have allocated K car park for your use which is located to the rear of Brendon Court. It will not be staffed and there is no need to use a special pass. Spaces will be on a first come basis.

Many thanks

Professor Bernie Morley
