Promoting dignity & respect

The University has now updated its Dignity & Respect Policy, following consultation with the campus trade unions.

The new Policy is available on the HR web pages.

Whilst the amendments are modest, this provides a good opportunity to highlight that we have a zero tolerance attitude to harassment.  Staff and students should be able to work and study free of harassment and bullying.  The Dignity and Respect Policy sets out our approach to dealing appropriately with any issues that arise.

We have created a new web page to provide advice for staff on promoting Dignity & Respect.  Please do not hesitate to seek advice.

You may also want to refresh yourself on the related Relationships Policy, which applies to relationships between staff and students or between staff.  Any non-consensual relationship can of course be raised under the Dignity & Respect Policy or indeed with the police.
