Jennifer wins Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals

Colleague wins Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals at Biathle World Championships in Spain

Our Director of Projects and Estate Management, Jennifer Stevenson, recently won Bronze, Silver and Gold Medals at the World Biathle Championships in Spain.

The Biathle is a continuous run-swim-run competition and is a sub-set of the Modern Pentathlon. It consists of a pack start followed by a run, an open water swim, then a final run to the finish line completed by either individuals or teams.

In order to reach the World Championships, Jennifer competed at the South West Regional qualifying event at Cheltenham Lido; the British National Championships at Salford Quays (where she achieved a silver medal) and the European Championships in Portugal (where again she achieved a silver medal).

Once in Spain Jennifer won the bronze medal for the Mixed Team Biathle (40+), which consists of one woman and one man each doing a Biathle as a relay event; the silver medal for her Individual Ladies 40+ Biathle and the gold medal for the Ladies 40+ Team (3 ladies in a team).

Jennifer said: “Initially it all felt a bit surreal at my age, to be able to progress to the World stage and compete amongst the best in the world. Wearing the Team GB strip felt really great, and the camaraderie within Team GB was fantastic, all of us cheering the whole team on. It was a superb experience and I’m so pleased with all three medals.”

Congratulations Jennifer – what an amazing achievement.
