ahs awarded IIP Gold accreditation

Ahs has been awarded the Gold accreditation against the Investors in People (IIP) Standard this week, becoming one of only two hospitality departments in the UK to do so.

The achievement of Gold through the new, more comprehensive standard represents a great achievement for the department demonstrating their commitment to high performance through good people management. To date ahs, formerly Accommodation and Hospitality Services, is the only department within the University of Bath to hold an IIP Accreditation.

Investor in People is the international standard for people management, defining what it takes to manage people effectively to achieve sustainable results. Underpinning the Standard is the Investors in People framework which reflects the latest workplace trends, essential skills and effective structures required to outperform in any industry, enabling organisations to benchmark against the best in the business on an international scale.

Paul Devoy, Head of Investors in People, said: “We’d like to congratulate ahs. Investors in People accreditation is the sign of a great employer, an outperforming place to work and a clear commitment to success. They should be extremely proud of their achievement.”

Commenting on the award, Jane Loveys, Director of ahs, said: “We couldn’t be more delighted to have been awarded Investors in People Gold. This recognises the culture that we value so highly within the department and also the supportive and collaborative nature of our passionate and hard-working staff.

“We strive to put people at the centre of everything we do. We will be using the recommendations made in the report to drive further improvements across ahs”
