Hundreds of potential students participate in virtual open day

The University last week launched its first ever Virtual Open Day targeting Postgraduate students. This used a new digital platform to enable potential students to learn more about our facilities, research and postgraduate student life, without even having to set foot on campus.

In addition to providing course specific information, the specially designed platform hosted 360 degree videos, webcasts and live question and answer sessions with members of staff and student ambassadors able to interact with around 350 participants from across the globe.

Prospective postgraduate students were able to browse through a series of virtual event lobbies, auditoriums, faculty specific booths, networking areas and access information on our range of student accommodation.

The Virtual Open Day was one of a series of events targeted at Postgraduate applicants. Details of the events are available here:

Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Provost Professor Bernie Morley hosted the first live session.

“Thank you to all who played a part in our very first Postgraduate Virtual Open Day, which was a huge success. We took questions on a range of topics from all over the globe, all of which we were able to respond to with the help of colleagues across the University. The Virtual Open Day is available on our website, so do take a look as there is a lot of great content.  This event is one of a number of innovations going forward, which will transform the way we interact with potential applicants.”
