Freedom of expression: A message from Mark Humphriss (University Secretary)

The University of Bath cherishes freedom of speech. A variety of speakers are invited onto campus by staff and students as part of our community’s desire to foster debate and the spirit of free enquiry.

Whilst we absolutely support individuals’ rights to express their views peacefully at any event, we have a zero tolerance approach to violence and intimidation. We would urge anyone attending speeches, debates and lectures to engage respectfully with one another and with visitors and guests to our campus.
