Tony Thompson, Dept of Estates

We are saddened to announce the death of Tony Thompson from the Department of Estates.

Tony was a popular colleague who will be much missed by both the Building Services team and across the University.

Patrick Abbott, Client Project and Programme Manager, said: “During his time with us Tony put his great skills as a carpenter to excellent effect and he had the deep respect of his colleagues, supervisor and managers.

“He was very popular with the team and spent time with colleagues socially outside work, and I know that the loss of Tony will be felt strongly by them.”

If you are affected by Tony’s death there is a range of support is available for staff: counselling is available from the Staff Counselling Service and The Chaplaincy staff are happy to talk with anyone who has been affected, in total confidence. Please email or Nigel Rawlinson. During term time there is usually a chaplain available on week days from 10am till 5pm; please feel free to drop in.
