Be a Marshal or an Independent Advisor

Expressions of Interest are invited for the position of University Marshal and the position of University Independent Advisor. Both roles will become vacant on 30 September 2018 on the retirement of Professor Mike Threadgill.

University Marshal The Marshal primarily leads the Marshal’s team for the Summer and Winter Degree Congregations. A clear head and an ability to solve problems quickly and diplomatically are required.

The time commitment is expected to be ca. 10 days per annum.

University Independent Advisor for Postgraduate Research Students Occasionally problems in connection with supervision or other issues may arise. Advice can be sought by PGR students from the University Independent Advisor for PGR Students or the Deputy Independent Advisor.

Discussions with the Independent Advisor are treated in strict confidence and the Independent Advisor will only make disclosures or make contact with others in the University or outside at the student’s request.

The time commitment is ca. 200 hours p.a.
