University highlights importance of Environment Award

Peter Adams, the University's Safety, Health and Environment Adviser, gave a talk to small businesses this week about the work that led to an award for the University’s environmentally-friendly initiatives.

The University received an award for outstanding achievement at the Envolve sustainable business awards in 2003.

This came on the back of a range of initiatives introduced at the University, including:

Mr Adams has been asked to talk about the benefits of winning the award, to help encourage more companies to improve their environmental policies and take part in similar award initiatives.

The event is being sponsored by DEFRA and will be held at Wessex Water Operations Centre.
