Derek Fisher retires

Today is Derek Fisher's last day at the University as he is retiring after working in the Computing centre (BUCS) for 17 years.

Derek joined the University in 1988 when the campus network was relatively small, and has seen it grow to its present size. His experience and intimate knowledge of the campus have been of great assistance to his colleagues in BUCS and other departments. His attention to detail and willingness to help others is well known. He will be greatly missed.

A farewell party was held on the 15 March. The Director of BUCS, Rod Angood and his long time colleagues, Kris Shah and Graham McNally, made speeches and gave Derek presents including a mounted display of "network cables from the last 20 years"!
