Two invitations to appear on TV

The opportunity is still open for students and staff to appear on national TV to test the expertise of leading chef, Gino D’Acampo.

ITV1 is filming in the kitchens of the Claverton Rooms on Sunday April 3 for one of the programmes for the series Chef v Britain. This is where members of the public who are good cooks compete with Gino to make dishes which are judged blind by an audience. Up to 15 staff and students are invited to be in the audience.

Those interested will need to be in the Claverton Rooms at 4pm on April 3. They should contact Sheila Willmott on 01225 386631 or at to see if a place is available.

• The producers of Channel 4’s BAFTA winning series Faking It are looking for someone working within the field of science to be a ‘faker’ in the next series.

They are looking for someone aged between 18 and 30, who is not keen on contemporary cultures and lifestyle, who is willing to be plunged into the world of modern culture. The ideal candidate will have an ability to learn, determination and a certain amount of curiosity.

Filming will take place over a four week period and the ‘faker’ will be taken away from their normal life for that period of time.
