Head of Student Music Robin Jackson retires

Robin Jackson, Head of Student Music, will be taking early retirement with effect from 31 July 2005 after 25 years of loyal service.

A farewell gathering will take place in the Claverton Rooms on Wednesday 6 July, 4.30-6pm. If you wish to attend, please notify Emma Gray on extension 6777. Those wishing to sign a card for Robin or make a donation to his collection can call into the ICIA Office on The Parade (1 East 2.1) and ask for Emma.

A professional organist and enthusiastic teacher and music examiner, Robin has conducted the University Concert Band, Orchestra and Alley Barbers barbershop group, taught hundreds of pianists and flautists via the music tuition scheme and provided music for official University functions during his time at Bath.

He has inspired countless students and members of staff to achieve excellence in music performance, encouraging and facilitating participants of all musical tastes and abilities.

The University wishes Robin all the best in his retirement.
