Two new Rolt Memorial Fellows recruited

The Rolt Memorial Fellowship at the University of Bath has recently recruited two new Fellows, MR Bone and GJO Wallis, bringing the total of Fellows appointed to 14.

The Fellowship was set up after the death, in 1974, of LTC Rolt, who had received an Honorary Degree from Bath in the previous year in recognition of his achievement in making engineering history more accessible to a general reading public.

The aim of the Fellowship is to encourage mature engineers and other professional people to pursue research in the history of technology, and to assist with the publication of such work. The scheme has worked well and has led to some valuable studies by individual Fellows, and to a couple of published symposia papers.

Both the new appointments have long-standing connections with the University of Bath:

They join the nine surviving Fellows as Honorary Research Fellows with the Centre for the History of Technology and the History of Technology Seminar.
