Jerry Ball dies

It is with great sadness that the University announces the death of Jerry Ball, who worked for Bath University Computing Services. Jerry died from a heart attack late on Saturday evening (6 August 2005).

Jerry was 46 years old and worked for BUCS/MIS for four years, initially on Lawson user support and more recently he took a key role in the upcoming deployment of pFACT, a new research costing tool.

Before this Jerry worked in the Finance Department for four years from 1997, initially in the Cashiers Office and later in the Grants and Contracts Unit.

The University will sorely miss his professional contribution in the vital and crucial area of Management Information Systems Support and Development but will also miss his tremendous capacity to be a positive force for good.

Our condolences go to his wife, Heather, and family.
