Last minute places for part-time courses in Swindon

People in Swindon have the chance this week to snap up last minute places on the University of Bath in Swindon’s autumn programme of part-time courses.

Term starts on 9 October and runs to 14 December, with evening and day courses held at the University’s Oakfield campus.

The last remaining spaces on the extensive programme include courses in IT, art & design, digital photography and archaeology.

Would-be web designers can learn how to create their own website with Web design for beginners. With just basic computer skills students can discover how easy it is to share information on the web.

In An introduction to digital photography, students can get to grips with their camera, learning how it works, how to store photos on a computer and how to edit their shots.

In a lively and fun class, Painting with oils gives artists of all abilities the chance to put their own interpretation on a subject, from fruit and shells to the human form. The class will also consider the work of a number of contemporary artists.

Archaeological surveying will give students an introduction to basic surveying techniques and how to draft archaeological plans, with a chance to get out on a field trip and put their new skills to practice.

For full details of the programme and to enrol online see the Related Links section. For help and advice with online enrolment, students can visit the Lifelong Learning office at the Oakfield campus and should phone in advance on 01793 328801.
