Industry leader gives talk to Bath MBA students

Sir Christopher Gent, non-executive Chairman of GlaxoSmithKline and former Chief Executive of Vodafone, today gave a talk to around 40 MBA students in the School of Management.

During his talk he outlined a career which saw him develop Vodafone from being a small British company into the world’s largest mobile telecommunications operation, and engineer the historic acquisition of Mannesmann for £122 billion. He also spent an hour taking questions from the students.

Earlier in the morning, Sir Christopher, who received an honorary doctorate from the University of Bath earlier this year, met with Vice-Chancellor, Professor Glynis Breakwell, and Professor Andrew Pettigrew, Dean of the School of Management.
