Press Release - 11 December 2006

Local business people invited to free leadership and marketing seminar

Local business people can find out how leadership and marketing can help to drive a business forward, in a free seminar and networking event at the University of Bath in Swindon on Tuesday 19 December.

The seminar, organised by the University’s Business Hub, will give ideas on marketing techniques that can raise a firm’s profile and help to sell its products and services. It will also explore how good leadership can bring added value to a company.

The seminar runs from 9.30am to 12.30pm on Tuesday 19 December at the Oakfield campus. Crèche facilities are available.

James Short, a recently retired Army Major General from UK-wide company Strategic Planning Solutions, will share his expertise in how to prepare a strategic vision, inspire people, and motivate staff to deliver added value.

Eileen Holmes-Levers, Managing Director of a Berkshire-based PR company, In Press PR, will give people useful and practical ideas on how to plan and implement a marketing campaign to grow a business. She will help people to focus in on what they are selling and explain how to use the power of the press to publicise a business.

The seminar is part of the Business Hub’s Leadership and Management programme, funded by the European Social Fund. Further seminars with leading business speakers will run on a monthly basis through to June. The events are open to all local business people but priority for places will be given to businesses with up to ten employees.
