Diversity in Academic Practice Project Leader Required

The University is committed to a proactive approach to ensuring equality of opportunity for our increasingly diverse student body to benefit from and contribute to learning at the University.

It aims to achieve this by moving towards the design of a curriculum and learning and teaching practices which are informed by inclusive academic practice. Teaching Quality Enhancement Funding has now been approved for a three year project to ensure the embedding of these procedures, policies, and academic practice throughout the University.

An academic from existing staff with responsibility for championing inclusion is required to work with colleagues, student support services and the Students' Union, and lead the processes of review, redesign and consultation on procedures affecting inclusive academic practice.

This promises to be an exciting role for the right person. The steering group for the project will be chaired by the Pro-Vice Chancellor for Learning and Teaching. The person appointed will be released from other duties, subject to negotiation with their department. Please note this post is for internal applicants only.

The deadline for applications is 2 January.
