Research Council recognition for Faculty and School

The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and the School of Management have been successful in their application to the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) for recognition as a provider of top quality Masters-level research programmes.

The University now has nine ESRC-recognised Masters training programmes – covering most of the MRes programmes in the Faculty and School.

The University has also been awarded 11 four-year studentships (four in Social and Policy Sciences, three in Economics and International Development and four in Management).

“Overall we are delighted that all departments in the Faculty and the School of Management have been recognised by the ESRC as providers of top quality Masters in Research Programmes,” said Professor Geof Wood, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.

“This continuing recognition offers a strong platform, supported by the allocation of quota awards, for investing in a new generation of PhD students in the social sciences at the University of Bath.”

The University of Bath is one of the UK's leading universities, with an international reputation for quality research and teaching. View a full list of the University's press releases:
