University’s links with prestigious Spanish business school continue to grow

The University’s links with one of the most prestigious and internationally renowned business schools in Spain have been strengthened by a visit from Professor Alfredo Arahuetes, Vice-Dean of the University of Comillas (ICADE) in Madrid.

Professor Arahuetes paid a three-day visit to the University in early February, as part of an ongoing programme to strengthen relations between the two institutions. ICADE has been one of the most popular exchange partners for students of the School of Management’s International Management and Modern Languages (IMML) BSc since exchange agreements were established in 2002.

Professor Arahuetes teaches International Economy and is the Director of International Exchanges for the Faculty of Economics and Management. He is also a researcher for the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and has published widely on economic trends in Latin America, particularly Mexico and Brazil, and the Caribbean.

During his visit Professor Arahuetes gave a very well-attended seminar on current trends in foreign investments in Latin America to students and lecturers on the IMML Spanish degree programme.

Hosted by Mrs Silvana Stanford and Dr Peter Lambert (Spanish Section Coordinator), he also met with the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Rod Green, Director of Exchanges of the School of Management; and Mrs Sarah Crampin from the Study Abroad office.
